Mason has started learning the fundamentals of reading. At his school they have a program called Advanced Readers. Each night he brings home a book that we read and sa-owe-nd owe-t ('sound out' for those not getting my lame joke) together.
This week he brought home "The Barbecue." We were reading along just fine, "The chicken. The steak. The corn. The cups."...then we turned the page and Mason said, "The sushi." The sushi!? Here I thought he was a genius, here I thought he was the best sounder outer in Kindergarten. Ha! I caught Mr. Picture-Looker in his own lie.
And P.S. Mr. Picture-Looker, those are baked potatoes, not sushi. Although the foil does look like rice and the tongs sort of (maybe) resemble chopsticks.
